Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a cash-only practice, and do you accept insurance?

Yes, this is a cash-only practice. We do not accept insurance. We are out of network for all insurance companies including Medicare.

Why don’t you accept insurance?

The traditional insurance model is geared toward procedures, not time spent with patients. A primary care physician in a conventional insurance-based practice typically spends only 15-20 minutes per patient—often even less. In contrast, an emergency room visit can be billed at $5,000 or more for just an hour in a hospital bed, while a physician's time is often reimbursed at less than $50 per visit.

Insurance companies prioritize high-cost procedures over deep, personalized care. Insurance companies often dictate visit length, treatment options, and diagnostic approaches. This model doesn’t support the kind of comprehensive and holistic care I provide.

While I don’t accept insurance, many patients use HSA/FSA accounts or submit claims for out-of-network reimbursement. I provide a superbill upon request to help you with reimbursement options.

Can I submit the receipts to my insurance for reimbursement?

Yes, we can provide a Super bill with the relevant billing codes if requested. You can submit that to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Can Dr Joshi be my primary care provider?

No, Dr. Joshi cannot serve as your primary care provider. She is a specialist in Integrative and Functional Medicine, focusing on root-cause healing and personalized wellness. Her practice is designed to complement—not replace—your primary care. Dr. Joshi no longer maintains hospital privileges and does not provide emergency care, annual physicals, or routine screenings. We recommend that all patients maintain a relationship with a primary care physician for these services.

How is your approach different from conventional primary care?

I provide extended visit times, personalized treatment plans, and integrative therapies like Ayurveda, Functional Medicine, and Homeopathy. Unlike conventional primary care, I focus on root-cause healing rather than symptom management alone.

What conditions do you treat?

I specialize in treating chronic conditions, preventive care, and holistic support for health-conscious individuals. Common concerns include gut health, autoimmune issues, metabolic disorders, hormonal imbalances, stress, and general wellness optimization.

Do you offer family care, or do you only see adults?

I see both adults and families. Whether you’re managing a chronic condition, optimizing your health, or seeking holistic support for your family, I tailor care to all ages.

How do you create personalized treatment plans?

I assess your medical history, lifestyle, and goals to develop a plan that addresses root causes and supports whole-person healing.

Are supplements or herbal remedies recommended as part of the treatment?

Yes, I may recommend supplements or herbal remedies as part of your personalized care plan.

How often will I need follow-up visits?

It depends on your health needs. Some patients require regular check-ins for chronic conditions, while others may need occasional guidance for preventive care. Standard follow-ups are 60 minutes, with shorter 30-minute visits for quick concerns.

What is your cancellation policy for appointments?

Appointments must be canceled or rescheduled at least 48 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee.

Do I need a referral to schedule an appointment?

No, you don’t need a referral to book an appointment. You can contact us directly.

Can I work with you if I already have other doctors or specialists?

Yes! I work alongside your existing healthcare providers, offering complementary care that integrates multiple healing modalities for a well-rounded approach to your health.
